Even more awesome than our fine German cars are the impressive women who are an
integral part of SEM/PCA. They are past presidents, board members, event chairs,
driving instructors and enthusiastic supporters of our club.

To honor our many fi ne women, we set aside a day for them the take the wheel of
the precious ride and revel in the sheer enjoyment of owning and driving a Porsche.

The ladies will be going to lunch, doing “a little” shopping and driving the cars . . .
along a secret route . . . to an “undisclosed location.” So, save the date and be
sure that the Porsche is washed, gassed and ready to roll . . . rain or shine.

If you’d like to attend but would prefer to not drive, just let us know; co-pilots
are always welcome. Sorry boys . . . it’s your day to hit the hardware store,
sports bar or ball game. And don’t try to follow . . . doing so would be more than
“frowned upon!”

More information to follow next month, or contact event chair Patti Door

Please RSVP to Patti Door

2010 Porsche Parade in St. Charles, Illinois
July 3rd – July 9th,

Porsche Parade 2010
Registration opens March 9 and continues through June 20

The 2010 Parade will be held at the Pheasant Run Resort, in nearby St. Charles, IL –
a suburb west of Chicago. How nearby? MapQuest indicates it’s about 300 miles from SE
Michigan, which they estimate to be a 5 hour trip. More than 200 miles of the trip would
be on Interstate Highways. This location will give SEM/ PCA members a unique opportunity
to attend this Parade.

Because the 2010 venue is a resort, everything you need will be close at hand and most
events will be within walking distance.

The Parade is the premier event for PCA, and as our club grows the Parade has also grown
over the past decades, to become a world class, professionally run event that is not to be
missed. If you have never attended and are wondering what it is about, please be sure to
check the Parade website:
http://parade2010.pca.org

Priority registration is March 9th through 11th to give everyone an even start and not
overwhelm the server. It continues through June 20th. Please put those dates on your
calendar and join your Porsche friends for a great time!

Wash and Shine Concours
Springdale Park in Birmingham, MI
Sunday, August 15th

PICNIC
(1:00 p.m. – ?)
This club favorite is fun for the whole family. Bring your family, bring
your car, bring a dish to pass and come enjoy a day of fun with fellow
members and Porsche enthusiasts.
This is a well attended event and it requires a lot of planning and
coordination. You MUST call our hosts, Sue or Dennis Denyer,
at (248) 391-3268 to make reservations for the picnic and to
coordinate a dish to bring. We cannot accommodate “drop ins.”
Please be courteous. The sooner you call, the easier it will be for our
volunteer hosts to manage. Thanks!

CONCOURS
(Arrival and Prep: 10 a.m. - Judging begins at 11:30 a.m.)
This year trophies will be awarded in seven classes along with two
People's Choice Awards. Judging is exterior only but includes wheels and
wheel wells. The engine, interior and underside are NOT judged.
Emphasis is on cleanliness. So plan on arriving a few minutes early for
those last minute touch-ups. Good Luck and see you there!

Trophies will be awarded in six classes:
(1) 356 (4) 1990 and newer 911
(2) pre-1974 911 plus 912 and 914 (5) 924, 928, 944 and 968
(3) 1975 – 1989 911 (6) Boxster and Cayman
Usually about half of the field wins a trophy so consider the odds and
put forth your best effort. Above all this is a great venue to view other
member’s cars.
